Welcome to our website where you will get appropriate information about the Council, Nursing and Midwives professionals and the Services offered.

Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council is a Regulatory body established under Nursing and Midwifery Act, 2010 and its Regulations of 2010, for the provision, protection, promotion and preservation of Public Health Safety and Welfare through regulation and control of Nursing and Midwifery Education and Practice.

Its well-known that Nurses and Midwives play a vital role in health care services, providing the bulk of direct patient Care. About 60% of Health workers in Tanzania are Nurses and Midwives. Its for this reason that the Nursing and Midwifery workforce is well regulated to ensure Public Safety and Quality care.

This target of Public safety and quality of care will be achieved if Nursing and Midwifery professions will have adequate knowledge, Skills and positive attitude. This will be done through various approaches such approval of education programs, Continuous professional Development (CPD) to all Nurses and Midwives and Licensing all professional Nurses and Midwives.

We are committed to ensure that Nurses and Midwives work in team with other health care professionals and deliver high quality care. This Website will contribute to ensure that Nurses and Midwives and other Stakeholders get appropriate information about Nursing and Midwifery Professionals and about the Council itself.
