TANZANIA NURSING AND MIDWIFERY COUNCIL

PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION

After verification of documents and approval, the interns will obtain online copies from the system through their accounts generated. The original copy of provisional registration certificates will be posted to their allocated internship centres before commencements of internship.

Every nursing or midwifery holder or any other qualification recognized by the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council as being equivalent to a Nursing or midwifery degree shall be required to undergo internship immediately upon completion of such courses in a hospital recognized by the council. Internship is carried out for twelve months under supervision of senior nurses and midwives to allow them acquire competences and practical experience in nursing and midwifery as referred in section 15(1)(b) of the Nursing and Midwifery Act, 2010.

The following are eligibility for Provisional Registration
  1. Applicant must be a person of good conduct
  2. Has successfully completed a course of training as a nurse or midwife in approved training institution at first Degree level and the council satisfied that the standards of such training are not inferior to the approved standards
  3. The application is done online through https://tnmcis.tnmc.go.tz and the applicant shall fill all particulars as required
  4. Important documents to be attached to support registration process, Enrolment and Licensing
    1. Recent passport size photo as prescribed in licensure Examination requirements
    2. Birth certificates
  • Academic transcript and a letter from training institution indicating completion of the said courses
  1. Certificates of Secondary school
  2. Accurate information of Nursing/ midwifery school attended
  3. Number of NIDA
  4. For in service, attach nursing or Midwifery current licence
  5. Registration fee which will be paid after generating a control number of GePG.
